We have an exciting event coming up I'd like to invite
everyone to - and it's free, thanks to the support of our co-host, The
East Bay Community Foundation.
Please join Oakland Local and The
East Bay Community Foundation at a talk beginning at 6:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, by
Beth Kanter - a global expert in nonprofit development, social media and
measurement.
According to Kanter, author of Beth's Blog and named one of the most influential women in technology by Fast Company and one of the BusinessWeek’s “Voices of Innovation for Social Media,” the answer is to improve the ways your organization builds networks and measure results. Come hear Beth share cases studies and success stories from her new book, "Measuring the Networked Nonprofit," and from her work around the world - that give you valuable, how-to insights on using data to change the world and your organization.
I'd also be appreciative if you'd
share this with your email lists and networks - we'd love to get this
internationally-known expert get a great crowd she can talk with in
Oakland.
For more information, and to get tickets for the event and the reception preceding it, visit http://oaktechtalks2.eventbrite.com; tickets are free but must be reserved.
Oakland's own Bilen Mesfin, of Change Consulting, will facilitate the discussion. (And if you can, come early and join us in a reception to welcome Beth to Oakland at 5 p.m.)
Best,
Susan Mernit, Oakland Local
in partnership with The East Bay Community Foundation and our friends at Solespace, HUB Oakland, Tech Liminal and TUMIS Design
