The Downtown Oakland and Lake Merritt-Uptown District AssociationsGeoffrey’s Inner Circle,  and Black Cinema At Large, after hosting a film screening and community engagement on the problem of Human Sex Trafficking in Oakland, saw a very real need for winter clothing services for victims of trafficking and the homeless. This includes getting the clothing to the population directly, without the need of agency referral.

Thes
e organizations are combining their goodwill efforts with Oakland’s Serenity House [http:// www.serenityhouse680.org/], a center for women that are on their way to recovery from substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness, and the sexual abuse.
