Rock and Walk Sept. 8: Hayward Fault and Bay Views
Join Oakland Urban Paths to learn about Oakland geology while crossing the Hayward Fault with views of the bay, hills and various fault-related features at King Estates Open Space.
This is the second installment of the Rock and Walk series led by Oakland Geologist Andrew Alden.
Start location: Meets at the corner of Keller and Greenly (Please note this corrected start location.)
Here's the walking route; there will be brochures available on Saturday.
Timing: Walk departs at 10 a.m.; return by noon.
Please note: It will be warm so bring water, sunscreen, sturdy shoes and energy for a walk with plenty of elevation change. This walk does not offer a lot of shade. Healthy, strong walking dogs OK.
