The 10th bi-annual Lakeshore Neighborhood Plant Exchange is coming! Please remember to mark your calendar and to invite your friends and neighbors.
 
What: Free Neighborhood Plant Exchange
When: Saturday, March 31
Time: Noon to 4 p.m.
Where: 3811 Lakeshore Ave.(with easy parking)
 
Garden accessories and accents welcome: umbrellas, clippers, tools, equipment, books on gardening, pots, stepping stones and even goldfish.
 
Taking donations now through day of event. Rain or shine, they'll be there.

Gardening accessories and accents also welcome: stepping stones, pots, trellises, trowels, driftwood, pond supplies and other landscaping accents and tools. Even composters and lawn furniture are gladly accepted. Gloves, watering cans, pruning sheers will all find a new home.

We donate leftover plants: Plants that are left over are donated to good homes. Do you have a school that may be interested? 

Gardening questions? We have two horticulturists available to answer tough questions.

 

Bring: newspaper, bags, cardboard boxes to carry plants home in.

Share a bit about the donated plants. You may use the Plant Information Form (located by clicking on the link at the top of the page), then download the form. Please fill out and attach one form to each plant you are bringing.

Plants currently available (partial list):

  • roses – all colors
  • dusty miller – artemesia
  • geraniums – different colors
  • asparagus ferns
  • sword ferns
  • lavender
  • plectranthus
  • flowering annuals – wide selection
  • ground cover
  • orchids
  • basil – various types
  • pelargonium
  • jade plants
  • cactus – various sizes and varieties. Many are quite large.
  • wild grasses
  • day lilies
  • chrysanthemums
  • succulents – many varieties
  • spider plants.
  • small trees

If you see your donation on this list, don’t be concerned about duplication. There are many varieties and colors of the same plants. Bring yours along.
