The vibrant and award-winning Oakland Youth Orchestra (OYO) returns for the 2012-2013 season with four concerts, a stunning benefit gala and participation in the Bay Area Youth Orchestra Festival, known as the Bay of Hope. Beginning on November 3 and 4 with concerts in Walnut Creek and Oakland, the first concert program features Copland's "Fanfare for a Common Man," Barber's Overture to "School for Scandal," Ginastera's Suite from Estancia, and Dvorak's Suite no. 8. The November season opening concerts mark the debut of John Kendall Bailey as new Principal Conductor.
