Hack City - A Cleanweb Hackathon at VERGE

Hack City is a gathering of leading Tech and Cleantech entrepreneurs with the goal of sparking new development and exploring sustainable business models by leveraging the mobile and social web. We’re challenging developers on what they can create in 36 hours with what we know of our energy use, building energy efficiency models, transportation systems, smart grid datasets and APIs.

This is a great chance to meet other sustainability minded hackers, build a portfolio, and team-build next to other industry leaders while having a good time! We’ll supply participants with food and drinks, and invite experts in building efficiency, energy, transportation and technology to present real-world scenarios that we can design for.

We are looking for developers, programmers, coders and geeks (read: YOU!) of all kinds to create usable tools, data visualizations and design prototypes -- using the data sets provided by a variety of contributors and strategic partners. At the end of this weekend we hope to have a handful of market-ready apps, data visualizations or high-fidelity design specifications to bring the most promising projects to scale.
