I'd like to invite you all to our very first Halloween/Dia de los Muertos party, this Sunday from 2:00-5:00. It's a fundraiser for Berkeley Maynard Academy's after school program.

We'll have DDLM-themed art from the BMA kids, a performance of The Prospect Bear, a children's book written and scored by Elan Vytal, a costume contest, and more.

There will be special treats for the first 31 to arrive in costume, along with other treats for all trick-or-treaters.

..We have movies every Wednesday night at 7:30ish (see our webpage or facebook page for details).

..We recently started a Friday evening happy hour party, which we call our Decompression Sessions. DJs, free popcorn, food & drink specials (including $1 ice cream scoops). A nice way to unwind a week with friends and neighbors.

..We have live music every Saturday night, 7:00-10:00. Local and traveling bands. Details on www or facebook.

..Our weekend brunch has expanded - we introduced polenta, poached eggs, and roasted tomatoes a few weeks ago to complement our waffles, breakfast sanwiches, brunchy drinks, coffee and pastry. Sat/Sun 9-3.

..Our weekends are, as always, laptop-free.
