It is that time of year again - the 2012 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition & Festival is back and bringing together more than 60 of the funniest funny people from across the country.
Since 2002, the BABCCF has produced one of the country's leading entertainment industry educational festivals. This year, there will be three days of symposiums, industry panels, workshops and one-on-one professional consultations and evening showcases, all specifically designed to develop the next generation of stand-up comedians. Notable alumni include Jamie Foxx, Chris Tucker, Katt Williams, Mike Epps, Nick Cannon, D.L. Hughley and host Don "DC" Curry.
Curry is known by fans across the country for his numerous national television appearances, not to mention his headlining at some of the most legendary comedy clubs in the country. He is widely recognized for his guest appearances on "Everybody Hates Chris," "The Steve Harvey Show," "The Chris Rock Show," HBO "Def Comedy Jam," his own Comedy Central Special, his own BET Special and more. He also is winner of the 1995 Bay Area Black Comedy Competition.
Proceeds each year
go to support the work of Full Vision Arts Foundation, a Bay Area based,
nonprofit organization committed to helping youth reach its full
potential via the creation, production and promotion of artistic endeavors.
