About 150 local residents, activists and community leaders gathered on Tuesday to commemorate Oscar Grant, killed by a BART police officer on Jan. 1, 2009.

Meeting
at "Grant Station," the vigil included speeches and performances by Donald Lacy, Fred Hampton Jr, Grant's relatives Wanda Johnson and Cephus "Uncle Bobby" Johnson and the reading of a poem by his daughter Tatania Meja.

Reginald James of The Black Hour was there and shot photos for Oakland Local.
