If you want some amazingly catchy and cool fall music, look no further than the just released The Coup single, "Land of a Billion Dances," which has Boots Riley and crew rapping and rocking all over Oakland.

The track is from the forthcoming (Oct. 30) new album "Sorry to Bother You" (Anti-Records) and the music is addictive, the beats dancey and the words social commentary to the max. It's all that, and then some. I've been playing it over and over, it's that good.

And even better, the new video that showcases the music is one of the first major Oakland productions we've seen in a while from Yoram Savion and YAK Films. YAK is the crew that started out filming kids at Youth Uprising and ended up living in Paris and shooting sneaker videos (with amazing dancers). YAK is back to shoot Riley's video and they've brought in some of the most vibrant young dancers in Oakland.

The video is structured so it moves across the city, from International Avenue to Telegraph. At various corners and stops, different dancers are showcased, including Turf Feinz Chonkie, Johnny 5, No Noize, iDummy, Ladia Yates, B-boy Lucid from the Circle of Fire crew, eNinja and Zulu Nasty. The moves are amazing, ranging from the now-familiar (but always exciting) turfing', to the fancy footwork of jooking, some downspin B-boy moves and alot I can't name, but wow, they're great.

Produced by Riley and Damion Gallegos, the track is both super danceable and filled with attitude.

Given that Riley has been one of the leaders of the Occupy Oakland movement, the music has some extra resonance in terms of political action, calling for people to change the system - but in the most danceable terms.

The Coup also has just completed a successful campaign for a tour bus, raising more than $32,000 from more than 630 contributors in a campaign that has its own clever video.

If this is just the beginning, the rest is going to be turbo-charged.
